The Kind-Eyed Father Reference

Woooh! I got it all done and two days before the final deadline! This is my first foray into Deviant Art's very own "Secret Wars", and I must say that I'm quite excited to become part of this amazing story that has been going on so far! Without further ado, I give you... The Kind-Eyed Father!

Real Name: Joseph Ackart
Age: 57 years
Occupation: Excommunicated Catholic Priest
Powers/Abilities/Weapons:
- Feels no pain
- Enhanced healing factor causes superficial wounds to heal and scar rapidly. However, extensive structural damage, such as loss of a limb, is incapable of repair.
- Here’s the voice of “God” in his head. This grants the Kind-Eyed Father a limited amount of omniscience, for the voice in his head seems to know more of the world's goings on than the father himself. It is believed that this higher power was the one who granted The Kind-Eyed Father his enhanced healing factor.
- Crucifix daggers (Skilled combatant when utilizing)

Distinguishing Physical Characteristics:
- Missing lower jaw
- Rarely speaks, due to missing jaw (however, he converses with the voice in his head much more regularly)
- Body covered in self-inflicted scars (practices art of scarification)
- Piercing blue eyes

Personality:
The Kind-Eyed Father is a very intense individual. A veritable lifetime of hearing the voice of “God” in his head has caused him to trust what the voice is saying. He holds much merit in what this voice tells him, and goes along with nearly all its commands and decisions. This longtime relationship with “God”, and his religious upbringing, has given the Kind-Eyed Father a twisted view on society. He regards most of humanity as a group of heathen sinners. Viewing the majority of humans as foul creatures, bloated with sin and misdeeds. Apart from the die-hard members of his church, (St. Casus), the Kind-Eyed Father has little compassion for his fellow man. The Kind-Eyed Father even turns this hate in on himself, for he has been told by “God” that he is an imperfect vessel and incapable of speaking the word of God. Such is the reason, why he took a knife to his face, and removed his jaw.
While the Kind-Eyed Father expresses much contempt for the human race, he possesses an especially profound hate for superheroes and people he deems “freaks”. They are imperfect mockeries of God’s creation, and as such, despises them. The Kind-Eyed Father and his cult-like followers have had frequent run-ins with the superhero duo, Manzelle and Cleaver Boy. He views both of these heroes as epitomes of the heretical nature of superheroes, for they are both chimeras in their own right. All in all, the Kind-Eyed Father is not someone to dismiss. His age may be deceiving, but within his chest beats the heart of diehard fanatic. He throws aside the fear of pain and death, remaining hell-bent on embodying the glory of that which he believes to be “God.”


Note: It is still unknown whether or not the Kind-Eyed Father suffers from a mental disorder, or if there is in fact, a higher power (be it terrestrial or extraterrestrial) that is communicating with him.
