Land of the Lost by kjmarch Land of the Lost by kjmarch
Their cave hideout has been compromised and Holly, Will, and Rick Marshall are forced to venture out into the Land of the Lost with only a few crystals and the trusty flyswatter. The Sleestaks appear to have them outnumbered, and Grumpy and Alice have arrived to bring more trouble, but fear not, for the Marshalls will not go down without a fight! (and Chaka is there too)

Inspired by the classic T.V. show rather than the new Will Ferrell version. It was fun, but can't compare to the hilarity of the old school classic!

Just started watching the original series on DVD, and I like it so far. It's campy and has that cheese factor, but it's also a mite more mature than many kids shows from that time. Also, I have a soft spot for stop-motion dinosaurs. XP

As for the film... Visually, the movie was pretty good. The CG was, for the most part, well-done, and I loved Grumpy and Big Alice's designs. I normally steer clear of Will Ferrel, but I'd be lying if I said he didn't invoke a chuckle every now and then.

Opinion blaster empty. :P Great job overall.

A fitting tribute to a such a show. I'm a total nerd and I'm also doing some ultimate fan stuff! I'm actually making a biological paper on the Sleestak, with diagrams and everything. I'm using the new Sleestak as a model for there bodies though because they're more realistic, does that make me a bad fan? I'm using the old show for everything else though. I liked the new movie, but I hated how Enik was a bad guy though>:(. Just tell me what ya think of my idea and if you have any suggestions or questions, it might take a while to complete though. Sorry for the lengthy comment and thanks for listening.

Thanks for taking an interest in the pic man! It seems that there exists some sort of spoken brotherhood between fellow Land of the Lost fans. I knew this picture just had to be created when I took notice of the sever lack of LOTL fan art here on Deviant Art. It was an untapped gold mine just waiting to be exploited! And that's awesome to hear about the Sleestak physiology work.It would be really awesome if you did a complete drawing of the sleestak skeleton. We've seen the skulls of sleestak elders, but the whole think would be a real treat! When you get around to completing it, you should be sure to drop me a comment so I can check it out! And I agree, the old show is the way to go. The movie was fun, but it just can't compare to the pure camp that was the original series!

Glad you like the idea! It might be while though as I can be famous for getting off track. I'm taking a lot of liberties though as the Altrusions are of unknown origin and therefore don't have to fit into Earth's standards for reptiles. I will also make some stuff in written form for there biology in detail and also behavior. (I just love studying cultures and Sleestaks are obviously sentient since the have a god and there a religion of sorts) Tell me if I should also make a fanfiction series afterwards to tie-into it to shed some light into who figured all this out and such. P.S. He also gets help from Enik :) And this also will not include the Marshalls although some hints of them being there will be found here and there. P.P.S I'm also including Slatch:):) I always thought he had more character potential. And thanks again, I now have new incentive to complete it!

I totally understand my good man. Getting off track is an all to common ailment of the artistic crowd! Personally, i think the more personal liberties you take the better. I always think its more interesting and engaging when someone takes a preexisting thing and expands upon it in their own way. Creating a culture for the seemingly simplistic race would be pretty rad. I hope you experience smooth sailing in the waters of your forthcoming creation!
